Pricing + quoting
The most common mistake solo consultants make is confusing markup with margin. Use Markup Calculator when you're setting a price from cost + a target markup; use Profit Margin when you're validating whether the price you set actually delivers the profit you need. When quoting a project, Project Quote gives you a defensible estimate combining hours, materials, and target margin; Freelance Rate works backward from target income to the minimum hourly rate you can afford to charge given your operating expenses.
Break-even + unit economics
Break-Even Analysis tells you how many units you need to sell to cover fixed costs — critical for pricing a physical product. Contribution Margin (revenue per unit − variable cost per unit) is the number that drives break-even. For a SaaS business, LTV/CAC is the ratio investors look at — healthy is 3× or higher; below 1× you lose money on every customer. MRR Growth compounds — 10% MoM = 3.1× per year.
Financial reporting + cash flow
EBITDA is the standard valuation input for small-business sales — most SMB brokers price at 3-5× EBITDA. Working Capital and Days Sales Outstanding tell you whether your business is choking on unpaid invoices — long DSO + low working capital is how profitable businesses run out of cash. Sales Tax handles the routine annoyance of adding or extracting sales tax when reconciling multi-state receipts.

Not accounting or legal advice
These are standard finance formulas — profit margin, break-even, LTV/CAC, EBITDA. They do not substitute for a CPA, bookkeeper, or attorney. For entity structure decisions, tax filing, or contract review, consult a professional. Use these tools for quick sanity checks and pricing decisions, not as your books of record.
