How does the Typed Signature work?

Type your name and the tool draws it onto the PDF in italic Helvetica (a faux-cursive approximation since pdf-lib does not ship a true cursive font). Quick when you are signing routine forms and do not want to upload an image of your handwritten signature. Cursive-script fonts (like Brush Script or Allura) would look more authentic — that is on the roadmap as a custom-font-embedding option. For PKI / cert-based signatures, use Adobe Acrobat or DocuSign.

Frequently asked

Approximately — italic Helvetica is a faux-cursive. Real cursive script fonts are on the roadmap. For best results in informal contexts, this is fine; for high-stakes documents, use a scanned image of your real signature via Sign PDF.
