How does the Auto-Bookmark from Headings work?

Skip the manual bookmark entry. Drop a PDF and we will scan every page for "heading-shaped" text — text rendered in a font noticeably larger than the body — and turn each one into a bookmark that jumps to that page. The default Medium sensitivity catches most chapter and section headers; switch to High if your headings are only slightly larger than the body, or Low to capture only the very biggest titles. Image-only / scanned PDFs have no extractable text and won't work — run them through OCR first.

🔒 Security & Privacy

All processing happens on your device. Your files never leave your browser, never touch our servers, and are not stored anywhere. Close the tab and the file is gone.

Frequently asked

Very accurate when headings are visibly larger than body text (the standard convention). Decorative documents with uniform font sizes won't produce useful results — use Add PDF Bookmarks to type them manually instead.
