About this tool
Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP) is a Post Office savings certificate that DOUBLES your money in a fixed tenure โ currently 115 months (9 years, 7 months) at 7.5% p.a. Rate is set quarterly by the Ministry of Finance; when the rate changes, the tenure changes (KVP always matures at exactly 2ร principal). Guaranteed by Government of India, backed by full sovereign credit. NO Section 80C benefit and interest is fully taxable at your slab rate. Best suited for conservative long-term goals where guaranteed doubling matters more than tax-efficiency.
