About this tool
PPF (Public Provident Fund) is India's most popular long-term savings scheme — 15-year lock-in, Government-backed, tax-free returns. Interest rate is revised quarterly by the Ministry of Finance (currently 7.1% p.a. for Q3 FY 2025-26). Annual deposit cap is ₹1,50,000 — which also gets full Section 80C tax deduction. Compounding is annual on the year-end balance. At full contribution for 15 years, corpus typically grows to ~2.7× the total deposited amount.
