About this calculator

Suspended ("acoustic") ceiling tiles drop into a metal grid hung 4-12" below the structural ceiling. 2×2 tiles are most common in offices; 2×4 in commercial. The grid uses main runners every 4 ft and cross tees every 2 ft. Add ~5% extra tiles for edge cuts.

Frequently asked

2×2 standard for offices and finer-grain looks. 2×4 cheaper per ft², common in retail/industrial.
