About this calculator
Suspended ("acoustic") ceiling tiles drop into a metal grid hung 4-12" below the structural ceiling. 2×2 tiles are most common in offices; 2×4 in commercial. The grid uses main runners every 4 ft and cross tees every 2 ft. Add ~5% extra tiles for edge cuts.
