How does the Section 508 / WCAG Check work?

Run a quick accessibility audit on any PDF. The tool inspects the document for the most common Section 508 / WCAG / PDF/UA requirements: is a document language set? is the title metadata populated? is the document marked as tagged? are bookmarks present? do form fields have tooltip labels? You'll get a checklist with pass / warn / fail and a remedy hint for each failure. This is a heuristic check — it does the document-level inspection a validator does first; full WCAG 2.1 compliance also requires manual review of reading order, alt text on images, and colour contrast. Use the result as a starting point, not a certification.

Frequently asked

No — this is a checklist, not a converter. Use PDF/UA Converter to apply the document-level fixes, and re-author the source for tagged structure.
