How does the Print-on-Demand Readiness work?

Check whether a manuscript PDF is ready for print-on-demand upload to Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, or Lulu. The audit verifies page-count parity (POD requires even counts for press signatures), platform-specific page-count minimums and maximums (KDP: 24-828, IngramSpark: 18-1200, Lulu: 32-800), trim-size consistency across all pages, BleedBox presence if your interior has edge-bleed elements, and file-size limits (KDP caps at 650 MB, IngramSpark 2 GB, Lulu 800 MB). Run this before uploading to catch the obvious gotchas; platform-specific requirements (cover bleed, spine-width math, font embedding rules) need separate verification per platform spec.

Frequently asked

Books print on signatures (folded sheets). Each sheet creates 4 pages, so the total must round to a multiple of 4 — but even 2-page parity is the minimum baseline most platforms enforce.
