About this tool
A Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) is India's most popular mutual-fund mechanism — you invest a fixed amount every month into a fund, and the units accumulate at whatever price the fund quotes on each installment date. Over long horizons this compounds powerfully: ₹10,000/month for 20 years at 12% annualized return = ₹99.9 lakh, of which only ₹24 lakh is your contribution — the rest is compound growth.
Formula & notes
Future value of an SIP = P × [((1+i)^n − 1) / i] × (1+i), where P is monthly contribution, i is monthly return rate (annual/12), n is total months. The final (1+i) factor accounts for start-of-month contribution timing. Enter monthly amount, expected annual return (equity MF long-term average ≈ 12%, debt ≈ 7-8%), and years — the calculator shows your total invested, wealth gained, and final corpus.
