About this calculator

Weighted GPA gives bonus points for advanced courses: +0.5 for honors, +1.0 for AP/IB. So an A in AP becomes 5.0; an A in honors becomes 4.5; an A in regular stays 4.0. Maximum weighted GPA is typically 5.0 (some schools use different scales). Failing grades don't get bonuses.
