About this calculator

High school GPA uses the same 4.0 scale as college. Most high schools use 1 credit per year-long course. The "unweighted" version gives the same points to all courses regardless of difficulty. For AP/IB/honors bonus, see weighted-gpa.

Is 4.0 a "perfect" GPA?+
On the unweighted scale yes. On a weighted scale (5.0 max), perfect with all AP/honors is 5.0.
Should I use weighted or unweighted?+
For college admissions: schools often recalculate to their own scale. Both numbers are useful.
What if my high school uses 0-100 grades?+
Convert: 90+ = A, 80-89 = B, etc. The exact cutoffs vary by school.
How is GPA computed mid-year?+
Use grades-to-date. Final transcript GPA uses end-of-term grades.
Does PE / health count?+
