About this calculator

Compute your final percentage from a list of weighted assignments. Standard US letter-grade bands: A 93+, A- 90-92, B+ 87-89, B 83-86, etc. Watch the warning if your weights don't sum to 100% — it usually means a missing or duplicated entry.

Frequently asked

Why is my A− cutoff different at my school?+
Letter-grade bands vary by school. The 93/90/87/... bands are common; others use 94/90/87 or 90/85/80. Adjust mentally if needed.
How are pluses and minuses different?+
On a 4.0 scale: A 4.0, A− 3.7, B+ 3.3, B 3.0, B− 2.7. The + adds 0.3, the − subtracts 0.3 (but no A+ above 4.0 typically).
What if my weights only sum to 95%?+
Probably missing an assignment. The calculator divides by total weight, so the math still gives the right average for what you entered.
Can I use this for a course in progress?+
Yes — you'll see a weighted-average so far. Use course-grade-needed for the "what do I need on the remaining" question.
Plus and minus on a percentage system?+
Many schools don't use ± in numeric grades — just A 90+, B 80+, etc. Adjust the band mapping mentally if needed.
