How does the PDF to Markdown work?

Pull the text out of a PDF and reshape it into Markdown. Heading levels are inferred from font size — the biggest text becomes H1, the second-biggest H2, and so on. The result isn't pixel-perfect (no PDF-to-MD converter is — PDFs are a print format, not a structured document) but it's an excellent starting point for re-publishing PDF content on a website, in Notion, or in a docs portal. Paste-ready output. The whole extraction runs in your browser.

Frequently asked

The heuristic uses font size, which works on most documents. If your PDF uses the same font size for body and headings (some legal docs do), the output will be flat — edit it manually after.
