About this calculator
Useful for planning fuel stops on long trips. The reserve buffer (10% is standard) accounts for the gap between "low fuel" warning and actual empty, which is typically 10-15%. Highway range is usually the upper bound; expect ~20% less in city driving.

Estimate fuel cost from trip distance, fuel economy, and price per unit. Toggle miles/km, MPG / km per L / L per 100 km, and $/gal vs $/L.
distance = speed × time. Useful for "if I drive X mph for Y hours, how far?" questions.
Better MPG → annual fuel savings. (1 − base/improved) × annual gas cost.
Compute miles per gallon from distance and gallons used. Also returns L/100km.
